The effort of Ibaadat is to bring to the centre stage those who are the soul- the ruuh of poetry and provide them their rightful place in the hearts and minds of all poetry and music lovers. Since poetry gets appreciated better when it is set to good music and is sung or recited well in tarannum, Ibaadat’s endeavour is to bring poetry to life again, mainly through the medium of music, to thrill the hearts of the discerning old generation. By explaining some of the poetic works, it shall also attempt to reach out to that segment of the new generation which is keen to understand shayari and kavita. To achieve this, Ibaadat shall create unique, high-quality events which showcase outstanding poetry, with each such event highlighting the works of a notable poet sung by highly talented singers. It shall also organize mushairas, kavi sammelans and dance-drama shows. Ibaadat is a not-for-profit Trust and is funded by the contribution of the Trustees and by donations received from friends.
