When Your Body Attacks Your Teeth: Combating Autoimmune Dental Problems

One of the things I wasn't prepared for when diagnosed with an autoimmune disease was how that condition would affect my teeth. I've always had strong, healthy teeth throughout my entire life. Within a few years of my autoimmune conditions developing, I began to struggle heavily with tooth decay, gum inflammation, and other problems. I had no idea the antibodies in my system could attack my teeth too. After working with my dentist, I found ways to help slow the progression and protect my teeth. I hope that the information I share here helps others to protect and strengthen their teeth against the havoc from autoimmune conditions.
