Services of Women Relieve Center for Afghanistan (SWRCA) is a nonprofit NGO that was established in 1994 in Farah, Afghanistan. It began its humanitarian activities in the southwest provinces in 1996 and became a member of UNOCHA and SWBAC. Initially registered as the South West Reconstruction Council for Afghanistan (SWRCA) with the number 391, the organization later changed its name to the Services of Women Relieve Center for Afghanistan (SWRCA) in 2006 and received a new registration number, 603, from the Ministry of Economy. SWRCA›s primary objective is to support Afghan women and rural communities through various initiatives, including education, livelihood, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), humanitarian responses, health services, capacity building, rehabilitation, income generation, as well as providing assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and persons with disabilities (PWDs). SWRCA firmly believes that women›s active participation is essential for achieving development and humanitarian relieve goals in the country. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of seven members, led by a chairman. This committee is responsible for developing strategic policies, reviewing organizational affairs, making decisions, and resolving challenges encountered by SWRCA during its operations. The committee also holds the authority to hire or replace the organization›s director. To efficiently implement projects in different sectors, SWRCA has established various sections within its organizational structure. These sections include Program Development, Administration, Communication, Finance, Logistics, Engineering, and a Sub-Office. Each section is equipped with the necessary tools, equipment, and skilled personnel. Currently, the organization has 20 staff members, and additional personnel will be recruited based on project needs and donor requirements. SWRCA has developed policies, capacities, and management systems to ensure transparency and accountability in handling donations received from various donors. Throughout its 30-year history, SWRCA has collaborated with organizations such as FAO, UNHCR, UN-CADP, IOM, UNOCHA, Canada-Fund, ASGP, UN-HABITAT, USAID, WFP, and Counterpart.
