Kom op bezoek bij een 19e eeuwse kunstenaar. In het centrum van Delft, aan de Koornmarkt, staat het woonhuis van Paul Tetar van Elven (1823-1896), kunstschilder, leraar tekenen aan de Polytechnische School (nu TU Delft) en hartstochtelijk verzamelaar van kunst, antiek, Delfts aardewerk en Oosters porselein. In zijn testament bepaalde hij dat zijn huis met inboedel na zijn dood als museum moest worden ingericht. Daarmee is een in ons land uniek 19de-eeuws kunstenaarsensemble bewaard gebleven. Het grotendeels authentieke interieur ademt nog altijd de smaak van de bewoner en van zijn tijd. Bij binnenkomst in de sfeervolle, overdadig gemeubileerde Salon zou je niet verbaasd zijn als de schilder of zijn echtgenote je persoonlijk welkom kwam heten! Naast de permanente presentatie organiseert Museum Paul Tetar van Elven regelmatig tentoonstellingen en andere activiteiten
